In dogs, the skin and coat help to protect each individual as it does with us. From everything contained within - bones, muscles, and internal organs - it acts as the first defence from environmental threats that our dogs experience every day. This can be simply walking on a pavement to splashing in a muddy puddle; pathogens are everywhere! A breakdown in this barrier can enable entry to these unwanted microscopic organisms.
